STEVE BECK
Campus Minister/Middle School Coordinator, RSM Leader

Hi! I’m Steve Beck. I serve as the Middle School Coordinator for Rush Campus Ministries and Youth World Changers at Manna Church. I am a native to Fayetteville (a rare thing) and I have been involved in youth ministry for 15 years. I have been an active Campus Minister for the past 3 years. God has always made my life interesting and provided me with some interesting careers; this is my third career change to date. It is funny to look back and see how God has used them all for what he is doing in my life right now.

I love working with the Middle School Students, they are such amazing people. They see life differently than everyone else and I love introducing them their Creator. It is amazing what they can do when all that energy is focused in the right direction. I also oversee RUSH Skate Ministries (RSM) and our Skateboarding Demo Team. You will have to check out the RSM site to get all the info, it’s a huge monster in itself. Right now I am married to the ministry, hoping that will change to a wife one day. One big part of my call in youth ministry is to be a father to the fatherless and I have been blessed to play that role in many young men’s lives over the years, I hope to continue that until the day I die.

Where are you from? I am a rare Fayetteville NC Native

How long have you been a Campus Minister? 2.5 yrs. but doing Youth Ministry for 16

What fuels your passion most for campus ministry? Having the opportunity to step into a young person’s world and help them discover what God has in store for their lives.

What are your hobbies? Mountain & Road Biking, Bouldering, Building Skate Ramps, Music, Graphic Arts and Design.

What are your top 3 movies? Hmmmm, I don’t have favorites but pretty much any movie starring John Wayne, Jet Li, Clint Eastwood or Mel Gibson.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done? Stood on a dirty street in a Romanian village sharing the Gospel and watching as the love of God moved over 60 or so people. The conviction and transformation was so visible on their faces I was in complete awe of how incredible our GOD is. 60 lives once lost, now in a real relationship with a real God. I didn’t do it; I was just a mouthpiece playing my part in the grand scheme of God’s plans. To this day I cry when I recall how powerful that moment was.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve seen on campus as a campus minister? Lots of changed lives, real transformations. It still blows my mind. I hope I never take it for granted.
